Berea Tourism

Berea Tourism promotes and advertises Berea and its unique offerings to tourist throughout the country. With staff at two welcome centers, Berea Tourism highlights tourist-oriented businesses to ensure that tourists are aware of goods, amenities, and entertainment opportunities available. Tourism’s business services include producing the annual travel guide, sponsoring and conducting events, hosting tourism-related business information on the tourism website, coordinating artist workshops, and continually promoting Berea as a great place to visit. City of Berea

The City of Berea recognizes the importance of local government on a business’s ability to get started or expand its operations. The Business and Economic Development team will coordinate the relevant departments necessary to address ongoing needs. Individual departments address the following areas:

  • The Codes and Planning Department regulates building and planning within the City. In addition to inspecting for building code and ADA compliance, the Codes and Planning Department will issue the certificate of occupancy for all properties.
  • The Finance Department handles business license and any tax-related questions.
  • The Fire Department evaluates business property for compliance with current fire codes.
  • The Public Works Department assist with roadway traffic and safety concerns, public parking, and other public street related questions.

Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development

As the state agency encouraging job creation, retention and business investment in Kentucky, the Cabinet for Economic Development works to attract new industries and to assist existing companies to grow and expand. This includes providing site selection services, detailed community data, assistance in obtaining required state permits and licenses, and preparation of financial incentive packages. Kentucky Career Center

The Kentucky Career Center matches qualified job seekers with employers. The Kentucky Career Center allows employers to post jobs openings on the Focus Talent job portal and provides essential labor market information. Assistance in recruitment, testing, taking and screening applications and creating resumes is also available. Kentucky Innovation Network

The Kentucky Innovation Network is a network of business leaders and mentors that encourage relationships, grow companies and create jobs. Small Business Development Center Kentucky

The Kentucky Small Business Development Center has been assisting the Commonwealth’s small business community for more than 35 years. With 13 service centers statewide, KSBDC provides consulting and training services that help existing business owners and potential entrepreneurs. Their services include one-on-one management consultations, training workshops, market research, loan packaging help, assistance with financial projections and information needed to make informed business decisions.
